1. Why does the soldier wish that his knapsack could "hold anything, or even anyone, just for the asking"?


2. Why does the soldier volunteer to rid the king's castle of the demon?

  2. Soccerkitten49, do you think that when he tossed the thief into the water to drown he was being kind? Why or why not?

  3. I don't know, he could have killed him or done other awful things. But if I have to answer, I would say he is being kind because he gave the their a second chance. Also, he kind of had to do SOMETHING. I mean, he was being attacked!

  4. Also, he didn't really throw him in to drown. He more like tossed him in to teach him a lesson.
